Executive - Technical Services

Job Location: Kolkata


Job Description

1.    Responsible for the technical services activity for the entire region. Key responsibilities include providing technical support to the Sales team; liaisoning with the OEMs in the Region; Conducting and monitoring field trials & product validation exercise and providing technical training to sales team members and channel partners in the region.


a.    Dissemination of technical information - Provide  product equivalents  and specifications, reply to any other technical query for both internal & external customers
b.    Provide technical support - Support the sales team in approaching new customers, especially Fleet & Industrial. Conduct lube surveys at customer locations for exact product recommendation/ product rationalisation as per the requirement.
c.    Customer complaint redressal - Provide necessary support to sales team for effective resolution (including visit to site if deemed necessary) of product related complaints. Coordination with CO for PQC/ SAR for sample analysis.
d.    New business opportunities/ Market intelligence: Explore and identify new business opportunities in coordination with sales team. Keep track of and report on competitors activities/ initiatives on new products/ technical services and gather product literature. Provide feedback to Corporate office /Sales & Marketing.

2.    Relationship with OEMs and Major customers:

a.    OEM/ Major customer contact - Maintain contacts with key OEMs/ major customers in the region for product validation & approval, business development and corporate tie-ups.
b.    OEM Approvals – Coordinate/ Assist CO in obtaining new OEM approvals/ renewal of existing approvals for the OEMs in the region. 
c.    Ashok Leyland - Provide technical support to AL account manager and Visit AL plant(s) to maintain contacts and offer technical support. 
For Southern Region Only – Maintain contacts with AL Technical Centre, VVC and Service HQ, coordinate for all technical matters, and new product establishment

3.    Field Trials and Product Establishment :

a.    Field Trials - Coordinate for initiation and monitoring  field trials with various customers. 
b.    Product Establishment - Explore opportunities of product establishment with other major automotive and industrial  customers

4.    Training 

a.    Training Programmes - Impart product knowledge to team members in the region. conduct training programme for channel partners
b.    Technical Seminars - To conduct technical seminars/ workshops for Industrial/ OEM/ Institutional & Retail customers
